I made this playful 5 × 5 inch octagonal ashtray as a lighthearted take on the ritual of a smoke break—without the smoke. It’s constructed from binder’s board and wrapped in marbled Lokta paper, giving it a crisp, graphic presence with a surface that feels alive and in motion. Keep it on your desk or a bookshelf. I’ve included two carefully hand-made, hand-painted papier-mâché cigarettes and a “stump,” and a single binder’s board match—each one shaped, painted, and finished by hand with both realism and humor. For me, this piece is about turning the disposable into something lasting—part sculpture, part conversation starter, and a small, tactile joke about habit and material. All the virtue with none of the vice! Shipping within the US is included in the price and a portion of sales goes to the ACLU.
